Yes sir it do indeed.
Has two racks towards the top. A coal basket at the bottom with air intakes there an in the lid. That lid be off a weber grill.
I can do 6 pork butts on there with room ta spare. It can be operated on charcoal (what I use) with wood chunks fer the smoke flavour er it can be run on lump charcoal which simply be charred wood pieces.
I get bout 7 hours outa 1/3rd bag a charcoal.

Racks set on u bolts what go through the side a the drum an look sorta like this: Her be a pic a the layout before paint. The weber lid allows the use a the 2nd rack when ya have taller cuts a meat on it. There be 3 air intakes around the bottom, one what has a ball valve ta regulate air intake an control temps. The other two have caps on em. When ya first start up the smoker ya have the air intakes wide open. As ya get nearer 250 degree's ya put on one cap an when almost ta temp the 2nd cap. Then fine tune with the ball valve ta maintain it. A charcoal basket made outa wire mesh sits in the bottom a the drum. It be about 14 inchs across an 8 ta 10 inchs high. The bottom a it is a replacement charcoal grate from a weber grill. The racks be grates outa weber grills to. This be a fairly easy project an don't have ta be real expensive ta build.

Thanks that looks like even I could build one.. I'm assuming that wire on the first pic of the racks is the temperature wire hooked to the thermometer on the side of the barrel?

Not to get way off the thread cause I really like that smoker! Nice job for sure. I too Love the old color combo of the 60's when Gulf used them. My Love for them may be a bit different than others though? They were the sponsor for the Gulf Flyer Ford GT-40 which won the 24 hours of LeMans race back to back in 1968 and 69'. Another wonderful automotive brain child that Carroll Shelby was behind. To this day a beauty of automotive innovation.

Actually, it wen't ta a digital thermo unit what I was usin ta calibrate the other thermo. After that it be used ta tell the temps a the meats. They ain't real hard ta build. A bit a measurin an drillin be the biggest part a the whole project.

thanks for the comments. It's a whitetail hide, it has a cotton skirt sewed on the bottom to keep the heat of the pipe away from the hide probably making it look a little bigger than it really is.. I braintan when time permits. I'm a unrepentant dryscraper but I;m thinking about trying wetscrape again.

Oh yes, now I see the shirt. I'm at just the opposite, I have always wet scraped but now I'm thinking I ought to try dry scraping if nothing else just to know both.

I'm still in research mode. I'm trying to figure out if cold smoking is even an option for me here in Florida. The heat and humidity seems like it could be a deal breaker in some of the stuff I'm reading. Can anyone here say for sure?
