Thanks! I will have to check out the ones at Hobby Lobby. I just bought a new one so it would be razor sharp and clean. I had been using a scalpel to open and drain an infected spot on a chickens foot and discovered the Exacto works much better! I was thinking it would be a good addition to a med kit. The one I bought has 13 different shaped blades which fit on one of the three handles which came with the set. Found mine some time back on a clearance table at a hardware store. May not be surgical steel but I figured in an emergency if the SHTF, how many people will have surgical steel to use for a medical issue.

FYI, The Dynarex disposable scalpel 10 pack isn't worth it. I bought those to use on the chicken. They don't seem that sharp although the shape was helpful for scraping the wound/scab a little. Other than that I wouldn't buy them again. Also, they aren't kidding about the disposable part. I sterilized on so I could reuse it and after 3 uses it started to rust. Cheap metal on those.
