Yes, indeed Graf.
It's all about learning to read your surroundings, then adapting as needed.
From viruses to humans, survival depends upon that principle. Understanding what is coming and what you need to do about it.......is a mindset.

I view it in terms of potential. Short of dying and God, all else is greater and lesser degrees of probabilities.
It is most definitely important to look ahead at what may be coming, but don't let it blind you to what is around your immediate bubble.

After a similar post i took a break. It was good to clear my head and work out some of the life clutter issues. Now that I am easing back in with a better plan my wife has also started with me this time. Must be the more purposful way it is being approached.

As the title of the sub forum indicates, it starts with a mind set and attitude. If I, we or anybody else rushes head long into the endeavor of prepping, it will quickly become overwhelming and may not address what really needs to be addressed.
Each and every one of us should have completed a personal threat assessment. In other words - what is MOST likely to occur. Make a list of everything that could possibly happen and then give them a ranking. Things on your list might include : tornadoes hurricanes severe thunder storms drought flooding wild fire train derailment chemical spill radiological accident terrorist attack civil unrest power grid down financial collapase and on, and on
Everybody will have a different list with different priorities based on what is most likely to occur in their area. Since most threats are local and not global disasters (not discounting the possibilities) our threat assessments will vary.
Once you have established what is most likely, then make a plan on how to prepare for it. You will find that preparing for number one through five on your list will cover much of your list regardless of how big it is.
Another step that we should be all striving for is to become financially independent. That freedom alone will give you a peace of mind that will help you through so much more.
