With all the remodeling and everything else going on, I have decided it might be best to clean out a lot of my preps and start over.....Go at this from a different direction?
Any opinions towards a semi-start over?

Needs to be done once in a while but not everything needs replaced.
I had 30 days worth in the RV.
I went through all of the preps at the retreat and replaced them with ones from the RV
I gave what I got rid of to the salvation army as it was non-expired canned goods, dried goods and some misc stuff.
Then I started over with restocking the RV.
Recently I re-discovered a truck and a truck load of camping gear, food and supplies/preps I had stashed in a storage building half way between where I live and the retreat I had forgotten about. Even guns and ammo. When you start to forget things like that it makes you wonder what else I have out there I have forgotten about.
Best I can figure it was in the storage building about a year and 3 months and I had last checked on it about 6 months prior. I had paid for a year and after 90 days past that they sent a notice they would sell it.
The truck one of those small Toyota 4WD started fine with a battery change. Since the owner of the rental got to see it all, I took most of it to the retreat with the intent of finding another storage place to stash it in, so far it is still setting under a tarp at the retreat.
I have a enclosed car trailer that a limb fell on the plastic vent cover and broke it and water leaked in. I started cleaning it out to see what was in it and got about 1/2 way when it got to hot in there, then I forgot about it and it was too cold in there, so I still don't know what is in the front half and I hardly remember what is in the back that wasn't ruined and tossed.
So I think it is a good idea to go through it all and decide what to do with it every few years or so even if it is just to remember what is there and see what condition it is.

we started getting rid of old clothes and other items, that are simply no longer worth keeping, last year..that stuff got divided into 3 groups.throw away, donate, and yard sale items.the yard sale items have their own location in our garage(shelves).some of the throw aways had buttons..in which i saved the buttons..the donations went to goodwill..we freed up i guess 90% of one side of the hall closet.40 to 60 % of each bedroom closet.now i can concentrate on what to buy in preps for those areas.take my bedroom closet for example.what i home can,and emergency foods go onto my closet floor now, pluss i have space on my clothes rod for new clothes.in which they'll (hopefully) be along the lines of,everyday clothes to what i consider preppers clothes.in other words.i want them to last as long as possible..still remodling? great if you/yall are..got a hall closet? might make the floor area into a tornado safe area.in which you and who ever, will have a tornado safe spot/location.and have whats needed in there with ya..tools to get ya out if needed.emergency foods, water, solar powered radio, flashlights.helemets and other items to protect yall from what ever, while there..how about black out curtains for when there's a power outage?that way yall can black out the windows during a outage, just to keep others from knowing that yall have lights..just take um out of storage and put um up during a outage.then put um back into storage when the lights come back on..is there a laundry seperate from the rest of the house,so to speak?got extra wall space if there is? that'd be great for shelves and/or cabinets for extra storage..

i did use commas and periods..and as for as capitalization and paragraphs goes.not everyone does that. i not only learned to take the time to read what others post.but i also learned to pay attention to what others are trying to get across to others,as well. can you read cajun? i can..

Any opinions towards a semi-start over? Why the clean out? The basics are always needed and can be freshened up and added to. Going from memory, you always had a straight forward and strong approach to laying in supplies. Marc

Re thought my food prep, decided to replace my regular food with freeze dried been investing in that monthly. Re supplied my get home bag seeing I'm out of state and would be more dependent on the contents.

Like Graf, and Jimle, We also spent some time this year cleaning and restocking, and redoing a site survey as too where and what was stored. After selling the Motor Home earlier, we had so much extra that what family and friends did not want or need went to others. Since DWs heart surgery and Old man Arthur Itis setting in to the my knees and hips, we both are losing some baby fat, so clothing is going out also, I am keeping some over size clothing in case of a SHTF and we have to go on the road. Makes it look like we don't have a dam thing and been on the road a long time. Also like Graf have gone the Freeze dried on some things and have been able to snatch up some new production (Less then 2 year old) M-eals R-efused by E-verybody. Going to start on our stored Meds and Medical supplies next week when we both are home. Yes some times you just got to clean out and say good by to some things and reevaluate your needs.

I tossed some out dated stuff recently. Brought in 100 new canned goods, more next week. Seems like 'A good time', to freshen up the stores. We are pissing off a lot of people around the world.

With North Korea going spastic I have been really kicking up a notch on updating my preps. Spent a few hours today going through my get home bag , which I may have to rely on being 400 miles from home working. amazes me how my co workers are so unprepared and unaware what is going on in the world.
