Just curious, can we see the handle side? It should have a 2 digit or full four digit number stamped on it that indicates the year it was made. I learned the hard way when the first canteen I bought was sold as US surplus but isnt at all. No date stamp on it and its slightly different shape enough that the canteen cup stove I have doesnt quite fit on it. The riveting is also different where the handle attaches. I mention it because that cup had a significant coating on the outside that abraded quickly, which is where I started looking for info about the canteen cups etc. I retired that cup and got a few actual surplus ones.

Sure, but I don't think there are any. It is a reproduction made in China by Rothco.

I ordered a Rothco cup also awhile back no coating but a standard issue plastic canteen will not fit. cup is too small for it to fit.
