+1 to the Bravo and for reminding me of Ruark.. Good stuff.. I need to know about the Ruark fella. I'm not familiar with him that I can recall? I do enjoy Theredore Roosevelt and like reading stories from Nash Buckingham and of course Fred Bear among others.

I made my third afternoon hunt today and have yet to see anything.
Ready to burn some powder. This is the least hunting I've ever done.

And I know this because I was in the same place last year (as far as hunting) and you consoled me and told me to keep my head up and in the game and my time in the woods would come! I still remember that and wish the old place was around so I could copy/paste those kind words of support you passed along to me. They did help and I'm giving them back to you now....."Keep your eye on the ball, your bases are loaded and your home run is one moment away!" Those are not the words you wrote but that is what I took away with me and guess what....you were right! You'll be popping caps and having that huge quiet smile of success come across your face before you know it!

I lost a GREAT story that was published in the Missouri Conservationist years ago that was about a deer hunter that was after a monster Buck that lived in a swamp. An old man told him not to pursue the deer but the hunter would not heed the old man's advice, the story unfolds from there. There was usually a really good article in that magazine, I wished I had saved them!
