There has been a number of home invasions in the area, One home invasion occured in the afternoon, with a boy home alone, who called his Mom,who then called the police. In the meantime, three individuals broke into the home, held the boy at gunpoint and ransacked the home. The police did catch the home invaders and the boy is OK
The second home invasion took place at night.A woman was expecting family to visit,so she put her two dogs in the bedroom so they would not running about. She put the kiddie gate blocking the doorway. Her two dogs are pit bull and great pryrenees. She answered a knock at the door,it was not her family, its was two men.One of the men knocked the woman down and ripped her clothes off intending to rape her.The other guy was ransacking ,when her two dogs jumped the kiddie gate and charged the men, scaring them off.The woman and dogs are ok
The third home invasion took place outside of Savannah,Georgia. A woman was home with her 9 yo twins, when someone knocked at her front door, which she did not open. The guy then broke in the home using a crowbar. The woman got her children, cell phone and .38 revolver and ran upstairs to an attic over the garage to hide. She closed the attic door and the guy followed her. When he opened the door, she put 5 rounds in him,he was begging for her to stop shooting. She and the children ran from the house to a neighbors, the wounded guy made it out of the house and tried to drive away but collapsed. He has gunshot wounds to:liver, lung and stomach.

I am glad she shot him up. I hope the dirtbag doesn't try to sue her! I am glad she had the frame of mind to grab her gun AND USE IT!
The news tonight showed gun shows here locally and out of state that were loaded with record numbers of buyers and that many vendors had to shut down because they sold out completely within MINUTES of opening up. They reported that most people said it is for getting what they want before the bans get kicked into gear and to protect their way of life.
Maybe there will be a decrease in the number of home invaders and bad guys getting away with such crap.

H. I. is on the rise here and I am pretty sure I brought this up several months back. The economy sucks, society has lost it's moral compass and it is up to us (and to quote the title of a book I am reading) the stewards of the flame, the fire of freedom, the light of truth to face those with ill intent with as much force as needed to insure the safety of not only our family but our way of life. Home invasions are IMO just another form of domestic terror meant to disrupt the normal way of life

Home invasions are definitely on the upswing in largest city near me. Near me, theft is on the rise, those repeat offenders are trying to get their easy drug fix. Jails are so overflowing that unless you commit armed robbery, rape or murder, police just issue citations to appear in court for the offenses only for perps to repeat their crimes knowing they'll just receive another citiation instead of getting locked up.

If I'm not mistaken this is the woman that actually called the husband and the husband called 911 on another phone. You can actually listen to the released 911 tapes...pretty chilling. At one point the wife told the husband that she shot the invader several times and that he was still approaching her. Then you hear the husband telling the wife to shoot the invader again. Here is the actual 911 tape...put up the volume.

You are correct. That's the case. If I'm not mistaken this is the woman that actually called the husband and the husband called 911 on another phone. You can actually hear the gun shots via the released 911 tapes...pretty chilling. At one point the wife told the husband that she shot the invader several times and that he was still approaching her. Then you hear the husband telling the wife to shoot the invader again. I'm sure if you search for the takes you find it on the web.

Lately I've noticed a few people going door-to-door to pitch sales. For safety's sake I don't open my door an inch. They are addressed through the door. Rude, perhaps, smart, I think so. Opening that door an inch gives them a big edge to force that door open. Talking to them through the door lets them know someone is home in case they have ideas of breaking-in. LE's have gotten the same treatment from me. Too many police impersonators roaming around these days. I try not to let my guard down to anyone and my doors are locked 24/7, have always done this, long before crime escalated to present levels. Repairmen who enter my home are greeted with my shepherd by my side, just her size intimidates many. She's honestly a big baby but the first question they ask me is if she bites. My answer, that, plus. She's very loyal and protective of me even towards my brother who lives with me, taking occassional nips at him. These aren't perfect solutions, there really aren't any, but they are deterances in the name of the game for added protection.

I like the way you think To many people now a days are just to trusting and this is there downfall. Never underestimate the capability of a bad guy that wants to do harm to you. They the bad guys spend a lot of time thinking of ways to cheat, rob, kill, rape whatever it takes to get what they are after. Our job is to make sure they pay the price, once they brake into your house there is no other choice but to shoot to kill.

All but two of the local pawn shops have stopped trading in firearms. All due to being robbed, and in two cases, being subject to armed robbery.

Dennis probably heard of the ones in his neck of the woods that they also report on down here In largest city nearest me there haven't been any reports of pawn shop robberies. Besides home invasions streetwalkers are being robbed at gunpoint, pursesnatchings and many car robberies. Also in another closeby city lots of gang related driveby shootings.
