Has anyone had any experince with the new Ruger "American Rifle". Seems long action bolt in 270, 30.06 etc.
They are something like $450 including a scope. Only place I've seen them ia at Walmart.
Just wondering.

Jimmy,
NOT from personal experience, but hunters around here love them. In this area, .270 is very popular so the three Ruger American's that I know of are in that caliber. It would appear that Ruger has a winner with this series.

I handled one at wal mart. Would have made the purchase but I'm going with iron sights from now on . . . scopes break, and even though I have a few inexpensive some day I may not be able to get one . .. therefore all purchases from now on will require iron sight options.
