I bought a Ruger 10/22 take down model off GunBroker first of last month at the normal retail price. Really neat gun and it fits in my motorcycle tour pack which is what I wanted. Then today when I stopped at this little one man gun shop I like. We were talking and I told him I was looking for another Ruger 10/22 and he had just gotten two in. So I'm now the proud owner of a older 10/22 with the deluxe engraved stock. Sold it at a fair price too.

Been looking for another one around here. Same old same o . . They say They're hard to come buy. None available. Ace hdwe's looking for two to come in next week though.
I'd say you got lucky finding them. High Cap mags for them have disappeared also.

Good find Dennis and thanks, you jogged my memory about the old delux models. I sold my FIL one back in the early eighties, I gotta check and see if he still has it.

We can all agree that buying one six months or a year ago was a good idea, but that doesn't mean better late then never isn't a good idea as well. Good job

I bought 2 last year with regular stocks and 25 round magazines, glad I got them when I did stashed them away as a survival rifle for small game. I had one years ago when they first came out and pimped it out with alot of accessories decided I would just keep these as is.

I will be looking at them, one gun shop at home in SC has or had about 10 used ones, some already reworked. I thought the prices high, but I think I will buy if I can. Same here in KY, lots traded in for new items, I can always buy here and have them sent to my dealer in SC.
I think I am going to look into becoming a dealer, just to avoid some of the hassle now.

The dealer I was talking to today said that the story was that Wally world had a HUGE order in for 10/22's. Maybe like 50 per store. Said they were the major retailer for the 10-22 and others had to wait in line. Don't know if he had the right low down or not. Said when the shipment DID hit Wally World the prices would come down. . . everywhere.

Trigger guard has been polymer for a long time now. I wouldn't be to worried about it, there are a multitude of after market options for those. The receiver and bolt are your critical parts, those have not changed. At this point in time, you could technically build a 10/22 without using 1 single ruger manufactured part. It would cost a lot more, but in the end, it's the design that matters.
