As a follow up to USCGME2's post, he got me thinking. I to am burned out on the survival/doom/shortage of every thing world. His question 4., what would you buy if money was no object, made me think and my answer was some cowboy fun guns. Well, why not now? I have devoted all my efforts during the O years to other ends. Enough! Tomorrow starts the hunt for a Non Purposed Fun Gun. Maybe something from ''Open Range'', like an 1873, or maybe a 45.70/45.60? Lots of nice Montana builders. Maybe just a pair of Ruger six guns? Who knows?
Regardless of reason, what is your next gun that you are actually planning to buy, whether sooner, or down the road. And maybe why?

What would my next gun be?
As an instructor, probably something sound-suppressed in 22LR. Why?
Think about it. The number one deterrent that keeps most people from learning how to shoot is the fear of the noise. Letting them shoot a 22LR with a sound suppressor on it is a good way to introduce them to shooting without all that much noise (and the 22 isn't all that loud compared to other calibers to begin with). A sound-suppressed 22LR pistol would make a great addition to my future classes.
Now whether I get one sooner or later will depend on finances, political climate with guns, etc.

Ruger 10/22 (another one). I like more than one of the same gun. An AK47 or AR15 would be remote possibilities given the price and uncertainties.

My next gun? Once things settle down and people get reasonable again, I would really like to invest in a Ruger Redhawk in .44 with a Ruger auto carbine in the same caliber. These two guns would make for some fun hunting tools.

So far it's .22s, 9mm's and .357/.38s Somehow I just can't make myself buy a Judge for .410..

Bolt action 30.06. Leaning toward a Savage. I got one as part of the Axis series. It's a good entry firearm, but I'm thinking I may move on to a Winchester Mod. 70 in the same caliber. If it's still there there's a 1970s one at a local pawn shop for $495, practically mint condition.

We have a deal going around here with Sig and may be getting an M400 for a reasonable, 'pre-crunch price'. However tempting that may be, I've kinda been leaning toward the Mossy 900 Jerry Michuleck 12 ga. Only $600 and has some good reviews. It is a 10 shot holding beast of a shottie and fairly light I might add. Supposedly shoots just about anything too. My buddy may sell me his 10/22 for a good deal as well. Im attracted to gun deals like a bass to shinny metal! ;D Attachments:

I'm not going to buy anymore guns, in fact I'm going to sell the ones I have before they take them away

Sounds like a lot of good plans, except for OT, don't do it OT!!!! I to am a Bass after the shiny things when it comes to all guns. That Mod 70 for $500 is a steal C man, and the Ruger 44 carbine I saw in a pawn shop Saturday for the first time in a while would match 'my' Redhawk for $550.00...very tempting. Gotta stay on track here..looking for that lever gun. Hope every one gets their new toys.

We already have most of the firearms put back that we need. Making an attempt to read the crystal ball leads me towards black powder revolvers, and big bore (45 cal and up) air guns.
It is only a matter of time before they make a list, and in some locations, they already have.
