Bolt action 30.06. Leaning toward a Savage. +1 one the savage with accu bed and triger in 308 but I wii just about anything not to exodic, right now i am looking at upgeads and .22/shotgun combos, single shot and muli barrel, shotguns. or just about anty thing for a good price. never did have trouble selling anything. just picked up a ,22/20 and would like to find a 762x39 or 223 0ver a 20 0r 12. would buy more pumps like 870 and will by all of thr 10/22 take downs i can find, will get the 357/38 trapper and 38/357 matchimg colt from my Fathers ests estate. got the first two willie released albuns singed. a signed bandana, and a signed autobiogcrafye to take/post picutes of soon. where and what is a 398, fat fingers do it every time, should have been 308 the 357/38 is not very good very far out, but with the colt trooper in 38/357 it is a sharp combo. I know I also going to do more rossi combo's in the more popular cal. 3006, 308, 223, single shot is ok 90% of the time anyway. Also going to revisit the Thompson Contender options and get away from the assault rifle and semi auto pistol market, at least retail.

Got my 700 BDL in early 80's and have always loved it, worked out a perfect load for me neck shots on deer out to 400+, FED BRASS, W/WLR/F210 PRIMER, SIERRA BTHP 85 GR, IMR 4831 46.5 GR.
remmington makes a pre-load now very close, look for specs but I will send info on it when I get back home. Great load for me, I know 85 gr sounds small, everyong things so, but it has not been a problem for me in 30+ years for whatever I wanted to kill up to an elk, it is all shot placement and convidence in your ability and that of the weapon.
Site it in at 200 yds, shoot flat as a pancake, love it. I just have a straight weaver 6x, they don't even make it any more but it works great for me

I get way to wrapped up in all the "new" stuff. I have yet to ever hunt for multiple reasons. Some day I am going to get out with someone that knows what the heck their doing and just watch and learn. In my hunters ed course way back when my teacher said there are phases of hunting. Just killing something, then hunting for the "rack" and then hunting for the "sport". He said the sport was more of the difficult kind of hunts. The kind where you don't bait them in and have preestablished feeding plots but track them through out the year and then go on there terms and try to get one. I think I have skipped the first two and would go straight to the sport end of things. Of course I uave no idea what that entails but it sounds like a heck of a lot of fun.

The best way to learn is just go spend time in the woods and pay close attention to every thing around you. Make mental notes of what you see and when, and with time it will paint a mental map that will make sense to you. Going with a friend to watch is not a bad thing, but you are still looking through his eyes, and we each have our own rhythm. Let him show you what signs to look for and read them with your own voice, and you will become a great hunter. Disclaimer: This came to me in an email and I have no idea about its facts. It is interesting though.. Maybe someone who has FB can verify it. I don't, I can't.
Status of gun industry
Attention F.B. fans: to follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.
Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.
RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.
FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!
Armalite: Maxed out.
DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.
Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.
AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.
MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.
RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted...
Related commentary from Bob Owens:
They didn’t know when they’d be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn’t come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn’t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20—were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.
Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and the rest of the Statists have done more to promote gun ownership than the NRA ever did. Well done, Democrats!

Sadly I am in the market for everything and nothing seems available. Tragically, my entire inventory - all 23 weapons (many call them guns) were lost in a tragic deep-lake canoeing accident.

A Springfield XDs in 9mm and a 1911 of some sort. I've got a few of the Remington R1 Stainless as of late. For the price they are an excellent choice.

I'm like O.T., selling all of my guns so the gruberment doesn't have to come take them from me. But, if I was to buy something . . . which I probably didn't . . . because I'm selling everything you know . . . I might have just bought a S&W M&P Shield for the little lady, and a S&W 686+ in 357 Mag for me . . . but, I didn't . . . because I'm selling everything you know.
O.S.
