I agree, as soon as I saw that I thought to myself... 'hmmmm, now how could I make one of those for free..?' So yeah, sawdust, candle wax, cardboard egg carton, wire and a piece of old pie pan cut to shape... Cost: zero. Satisfaction: priceless.

Old Coot was selling some firestarter stuff.. (I bought two packs and they're very handy) that work similarly.. Speaking of which anybody heard from Old Coot or did the black suburbans haul him away? Last time I read anything there was some 'secretive not to be discussed activity' around his house.

Or........... place a tuna can filled with corrugated cardboard and wax in can, light it up, cut small green branches, place across top of can like a grill, set pot on it or throw a ribeye on that grill. ;D

For that price ...no way You should make one and youtube it for the forum ;D I'll give it a go. Should be easy enough, though not likely environmentally friendly. Edit: in fact, this is fodder for another contest.

Shouldn't need to weld. A few bends in some sheetmetal should do the trick. I'll stay out of that contest as I have a distinct advantage.

Bending a few pieces of wire would be enough to hold the thing. The trick is to create the puck on the cheap and have it burn for a half hour minimum.
