That is an absolutely great container to fit behind your truck seat. The contents it holds are too shabby looking either.

I really like this idea, and considering of doing something similar myself. I have a GHB in the trunk of my car with a few goodies. I was wondering if the heat inside the car affects the MREs if any ?

Great job uscgme2 and such a great container. If I didn't have so much tied up in two bags, I use like this, I'd find a couple of the 40 mm cans. They really make good containers for this sort of thing. The gov got one thing right...ammo cans... ;D Great job! Jimmy

Looks like a well thought out and balanced kit.....Thanks for sharing. That ammo can beats the two Rubbermaid action packers I carry around....LOL

With the can in the cab of the truck year round, how do the MRE contents and other items in the can hold up through the heat of Summer and the cold of Winter?

I really like that set up you got...great job on putting it all together. Question, if your truck were to brake down and you had to leave your vehicle. Did you include a means of being able to carry your gear, like a backpack. Or would you just rig a shoulder strap and carry the ammo box as is? Just something to think about

Most of my stuff in IN a back pack, IN the Rubber maid "action packers"...so it's open bin lift out pack and go. Also carry a couple of flod up into it's self packs, for "what nots" Old.... New form Wlamart; So as to "spread the load".......also come in handy for foraging......or picking up other's beer cans...Hate that!

We pack 40mm cans for vehicles, but not like that. It is a point of consideration for sure.
Now to find some more cans.. they are getting rarer by the day.
