Antique (circa 1910 or so) Ithaca damascus bbl 12 ga with the external hammers. Its got beautiful patina and is actually very tight in its lock up and appears to be in good working order. Tomorrow, Im going out back with some 3" 00 buck and pattern her out. Ha! Just kidding! I actually like my face just where it is! I do plan to use it for a rabbit hunt and for fun. I know I asked this before, anyone got a recipie for low pressure 12 ga shot shells? Ill get pics up shortly. Thanks ya'll

Man I would really be careful. Those old damascus barrels can really make trouble. IIRC they are actally blackpowder. I'm sure you can find a blackpowder load you can use safely.
They are cool old guns, just a bit tempermental..

There is some info out there about using 20 ga inserts and then using a light BP load with paper wads instead of one piece compression ones which may or may not be an option. Going to do due diligence on this one before I lock and cock. Still the same, it is neat gun and goin over the mantle in any case.

Well, got some more feedback on this deal and all signs say using it for a hunt is a non-sequitur. Just too much risk, testing is cost prohibitive, and making or finding safe shells to use is a pain. Just not enough return for the hassle. Over the fireplace she goes as a "functional but non working" piece.

That's how I was feeling when I read Damascus! Hang it on the wall and enjoy it!
