Just doing my part. My hat came in. Very pleased with it. I have a rather large melon and this thing fits like it was made for me. Also got my "Darn tough" sock in the other day from Vermont. Very comfortable socks. I've never tried wool socks in the summer. Gonna be interesting to see if their claims of warm in the winter and cool in the summer are factual.

Been scouring the net looking for an American made chamois shirt. Anybody got a source?

My motto is buy quality. I rarely buy the cheapest but look for a quality product and am willing to pay more. This weeds Chinese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese products out almost immediately. If an Aussie product is the best, I'll buy that. Sometimes american made products are not the best value for my fiat currency. I don't mind cheap disposable items (toys) but if I'm looking for a wool cap I plan on keeping that forever and will pay for quality.
I don't believe the U.S. is the largest producer of wool so an "american made" version may not be practical. If I spend 20% more to get a product that has a 20% less life span I have done my family a disservice.

Probably not the biggest cotton producer either which is chamois. I always try and support local manufacturers. Then US. If I can find it here, then I'll look elsewhere. My current chamois are made in cambodia. If I can find them made here, I'll buy one, check the quality and order more if it's acceptable.

I've been here since the "old board" and I never promote my business here. I will say that I only sell verifiable American made products from this manufacturer: concordebattery.comAll of it is American made from the raw materials on up. I have competitors who claim "Made in USA" but some are REALLY borderline. Something to consider: Assembled in America means jobs here, and folks often talk about the number of jobs - so that's OK. Really? Where is the profit going for the product?

I find it hard to believe how blasé some folks are about this. Showing more of the degradation of the American spirit.
I read an article once and this moron was blatting about how us sending work to china was a good thing. We send work to them and buy product from them and in turn they buy products from us. Folks, at the time that article was written, the average pay in china was .09 an hour. They are so poor you won't find toilet paper in restrooms because they keep stealing it (This directly from someone at my wifes job that went there). The average joe in china isn't buying diddly from us.
