Well hello and welcome aboard. Glad to have you join us. Mind telling us just a smidgeon about yourself. I did, in my profile. "The Shire" is a colloquialism for a region in the northeast where a river flows north. I'll open up more if I get comfortable here. It won't take long. It's a really good group of people here. The jerks don't stick around much, but I'm stubborn. There's a handful of New englanders here. Most of them have been to mountain marks for the nature class.

Welcome from Appalachia. Obviously we DO have computers; are somewhat conversant; don't all live in hollers; and don't all make whiskey (long live the memory of Popcorn Sutton).
Seriously, there are good folks here, and even when they don't agree can find enough respect to hear the others out.
My guess is you will feel at home in no time!!

Are you a part of the crazies up there that run around and break the laws to cause trouble and then loose in court? Ian freemam I think is the lunatics leader. They claim to have a "community" called the shire that does not regcognize any laws.

They claim to have a "community" called the shire that does not regcognize any laws. If a passion for freedom is considered "crazy" then I'm guilty. While there are several "Freedom Oriented" groups hearabouts none of them engage in unlawfull activites that I know of. Ian Freeman ? Never heard of him. We do have quite a number of activists who work to keep New Hampshire free. The "Free State Project" comes to mind as they have hosted several open carry protests against restrictive legislation as well as the "Free Keene" folks who seem to focus on feeding parking meters footsetps ahead of the meter maids in the city of Keene. We also have several very active gun rights groups who also organise open carry protests. Most of these organizations have been in court, some as plaintif's and some as defendants. However all of them have won their cases. Most of the people I know take the meaning of "Live Free or Die" very seriously. .
