I sure didn't see it as flaming at all. It struck me as "I really have to strongly disagree with your opinion." I've never worried about how I phrase things around here, but now I wonder if need to? Marc Nope, just commenting, I took it as disagreement.

When someone says "Not to change the subject, but..." then what do they do? Change the subject. So either 5 was flaming (but his subsequent wording didn't sound much like flaming to me) or he wasn't and didn't mean for anyone to take what he said as flaming. Hey, there's nothing wrong with disagreement either way. If we all were in perfect agreement on every single statement made here, this would be a really, really dull board, wouldn't it? I'm cool as long as every participant keeps his or her cool. Let's move on, nothing to see here. That said, I am a total ignoramus when it comes to gunsights. You guys are going to have to police yourselves on this topic. I can't even calibrate (is that the right word?) the gunsight that came on the Daisy Powerline 880S that I bought a few days ago. I managed to get it mounted, but sight it in...? Me? Really? Maybe I shouldn't have confessed that...

Marc I don't think you need to, Marc. You've always been helpful and respectful of others and a good source of knowledge. I appreciate that and am glad for your input. Let's not let this spiral out of control and turn into something unpleasant.

As I see it, I raised a question and cwi555 quickly responded openly and clearly - in the affirmative. It was certainly not my intent to trigger anything out of control or unpleasant!
Respectfully, Marc

Hey it's just a scope for a rifle. Whether it's powered with my weak eyes or with battery powered optics it's just an opinion I was seeking. It's all good and I appreciate everybody's input.

eotech makes nice products and the battery life is pretty good. I think aimpoint is better on battery life though. mine take watch batteries and last a long time over a year under normal use and still good but i swap them anyway after that. Pretty sure they will last just about as long as in a watch on some sights. My small red dot was made for aimpoint by a japanese company and is 1st or 2nd gen tech but I am very pleased with it. now lets talk cheap. I have 2 tasco red dots and they hold zero and function perfectly and cost about 50 bucks each.
trijicon makes some reflex and red dot sights that take no batteries but they are pricey. You guys that shot my AR at camp david used the tasco.
