Well I have given it a lot of thought. Do I buy precious metals, or land, or trade goods, or just stay with food?
I have decided to invest in precious metals
I am going to buy as much lead as I can.

Diversify your investment by adding copper to your portfolio.

Makes me wonder if there are old appliances that can be had cheaply with copper parts. Any suggestions on which would have the most copper?

The only appliances I know of with copper parts are fridges, freezers, and air conditioners, both window units and central units.

around these parts when there is a bulk trash pickup for used appliances and what not, the dang vultures are out here fighting over the scrap to take down the road to the scrap metal places. People are out walking around knocking on doors asking for stuff. Must make some money at it.
The brass that I pick up that I don't reload for and can't give away I take up there. Couple 5 gallon buckets full will get you 80-110$ depending on i guess the going rate for the day.

Yafee iron and metal sells it by the ton. They get 55 gallon drums of used brass if you get there at the right time, or the owner dont get it. Makes me wonder if there are old appliances that can be had cheaply with copper parts. Any suggestions on which would have the most copper?

I put some up on here for those looking for it but to be honest it was more of a hassle than what it was worth. Next time I have it out I'll take a look at what I got.

I think I covered this already but about twice a year I dig through the sand at the rifle range at the gun shop where my son in law works and get several buckets of copper jacketed lead which I then melt down, keeping the lead and selling the cooper to buy powder and bullets. I am not going to use lead bullets until I have to, although I have built several thousand in my calibers. 9mm/7.62x39/3006/308. I tried lead drop to make shot pellets but I don't think I will be doing that, never got the hang of it.

Anyone have opinions on lead alloy bullets. I've read both sides some for others against. I dont think they are good for anything moving much faster than 1k fps. . They do work well in 38/45/.22/.30carbine etc. I know .40 s/w they are discouraged and Glock flat says dont use them. I just loaded 100 rds of .38s with 158 LRNs. They should only move about 800 fps the way I got them loaded
