I think this link was posted before but it is a good source for specific accuracy targets you can print out. Mostly I just either use an aluminum pie plate, a skeet target glued to the backstop upside down or those little clay BB gun targets. Gives me the different range sizes and they break when you hit them so you know right away. If you want to know just where you hit the clay targets put paper up first. Some times I use a roll of freezer paper and just drwa an outline of a head and shoulders to shoot at. Works for me. www.hausofguns.com/2014/07/15/ez2c-personalized-range-targets/

Repair implies it's breakable. Some stuff just isn't... unless a Marine wants to break it.

And don't neglect your off hand.
Everyone should practice with their wrong hand some of the time.
And while I am on the subject when was the last time you practiced? YEP! Just what I thought. We had some rain today so it was nice and cool and I got some time in with the little Henry Survival Rifle and the Beretta M9.
You gotta practice/practice/practice if you expect to hit anything when you shoot.
How many times I have to tell you?

What is the reason for those wedges outside of that huge central circle? :-)
Just kidding - I love shooting, just for the sake of shooting because it's enjoyable, relaxing and challenging - but I don't claim to be capable of battle. With ammo back on Walmart shelves, I shoot 9mm/.357mag/5.56 every week that I'm home so I'm almost a decent shot inside of 100 yds with my own weapons. These old eyeballs are a serious challenge beyond about 125yds because of depth of field limitations - so it's one of only two scoped rifles.
The big problem IMHO, is that all of the practice in the world goes away in the midst of an adrenaline dump that most people will get hit with. I know that you already know it FAR better than I - but MOST people are surprised by the impact when it happens - even the second or third time. But that's a whole different subject unto itself!

Yes but I never can resist it.
Having some experience with both situations I can say that practice and battle are not the same.
There are some things nothing can prepare you for and you may never know how you might react and its even possible you won't remember how you reacted when its done.
But! When you practice to the point you stop needing to think about taking the safety off, or where the mag release button is, or getting the mag seated on the first try, or when your practicing and the stupid old woodyz keeps shooting you with that damn paint ball gun until one day you just ignore him because while it does sting and it does break your concentration its not really that bad after you get used to it.
And then you have the good fortune to put all of that training to use for real and the only thing you can remember is that it sure was over quick and you can't remember needing to remember to take your safety off and you don't remember changing mags but you must have because you used up one and 1/2 and woody must have been there because you kept hearing that damn paint gun firing somewhere in the background and man you have to pee.
Congratulations your practice worked and your alive and so is everyone around you because everything went smooth and how could it have taken 45 minutes it just started, at least you didn't get hit my that damn paint gun and where was woodyz anyway.
Practice practice practice for the muscle memory you don't have to think about practice for the reactive solution you made, practice is not about shooting little holes in paper at a specific and consistent location. No it isn't, practice is learning the manual dexterity to operate the furniture and fixtures of the machine in your hands while you are thinking about other things you need to be thinking about in a gun fight.
Any body seen my safety glasses? I think I lost them again.
