I'm scared and edgy like others here in regards to ebola. No, I'm not as prepared as I'd like to be. I've purchased smaller items to help me but the bigger guns are out of my reach. C'est La Vie. No matter what, this virus can spread as quickly as a wild fire. It may have some effect on communications and we could lose touch with each other. I believe if you haven't put trust in at least one member here to share an e-mail address & telephone number, that now would be the time to do so. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping for the best.  |

Sweetie, you have my phone and email. I have phone #s for DINK, CGU, TJ, Angelhelp, Dtucker and probably others I can't recall and addresses for several like Crash. If we want to have a phone/email tree, most of us still have the email address list from the now defunct ST. It has MANY more emails from our old friends (Like Slade in Illinois). We don't want it on here. But how about the admins decide if we are going to send it around?
Some of the emails are probably no good anymore if people have moved and gone with another provider. But at least we would have a few. Just thinking out loud. SG

My go-to folks for stuff like "I'm still alive but the computer pooped out" or "We had a storm and there's still no power, hence no cell phone or internet" began with Thywar, continued with Dink, and would now include a few other folks (like you, SG). I don't think we're in sufficient proximity to be of any aid to anyone here unless another member was "traveling through" and had to stop. The storm situations alone make it worthwhile.

I have info on several members. Those I have contact with have others I don't have. Obviously the ones closest to me would be first. Others around the country. I agree PMs would be best. Someone out of country or even the coastal areas are probably too far for me to be of assistance unless it's relaying info. Several know my general location since I've relocated. Im happy to trade info with long term members or 'regulars' on here. I think for those who text that's probably fastest/easiest as we would all keep our phones handy. I can usually get text reception easier than telephonically. But 1/2 mile and it improves considerably.
It's just good planning to do it. Just one of the reasons I tried to meet those close.
PS. Those with smart phones hopefully have their emais set up. Something tells me admin has access to almost everyone's email and could send an email blast if something were to happen to the forum. Hopefully

Yes I feel the same way. I have a few contacts and have done so in the past for storms. Now we have this ebola. I too do not have all the preps for viral or nuclear issues. Like many of you I will do the best I can and live life to the fullest.
