My wonderful puppy grabbed the box cutter I was using and long story short gave me a deep gash, right on the ball of my foot. Took ten stitches and a bottle of percocet. The nurse practicioner student did a pretty good job, but damn are feet sensitive.
Thought the pills would put me to sleep, but they seem to have the opposite effect.

which foot?
the right ball can effect your lungs, so watch for that, the left is your heart or lungs depending on location.
my youngest daughter was 8 when she stepped on a broken beer bottle getting out of a canoe. cut her right arch to the bone.
take good care of it, you need your feet.
try adding some caffeine with the percocet, don't know why but it works. also take two 350 aspirins, the round white ones, with the percocet it enhances the effect.
it does keep about 1/3 of the people who take it awake, generally when they take too much, try 1/2 of what they told you to take with 2 aspirin and see if it doesn't work better.
soak your foot in cold water if it swells but keep it dry between soakings.
if it needs to drain use a heat pad.
of course follow your drs orders, over my suggestions.

That story shouldn't be 'long story short'.I'm trying to visualize how that happened. Glad it wasn't worse and that's a tough place to have stitches. I don't envy you the next 10 days. Have you ever wondered how Z Man manages to come up with these 'drug cocktails' because that's some good to know info about mixing aspirin and Percocet. I'm imagining the myriad of things he's 'done' to have that information. Lol

Lol He could tell you but then.... was sitting in a lawn chair repairing a hose with the box cuter when she snuck in and grabbed it. Called her back and she started shaking her head so I put my foot up and the rest is history. They said if I could get through a couple days it should be all down hill after that.

Well if you ever need back up for a home invasion just give your puppy a box cutter.
Hope your feeling better really soon.

Dang Kut, that sounds like my kind of luck....if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all... Glad you're on the mend! Take good care of it so that you have no infection issues... Jimmy

you mean like making a mash out of hot peppers, red seaweed or ginger and applying it to the area of pain?
or boiling Willow bark and using it as an anti-inflammatory,
Peppermint for digestive cramps, and as a local topical anesthetic
or lavender or valerian root to calm one down and relieve a tension headache
or the 30 pressure points on your hand that relieve pain in specific areas of your body (also why the loss of my ring finger may cause a problem with my ears)
Aloe Vera Gel for Burns,Constipation, Cuts & Wounds, Dental/Oral Care,Insect/flea Bites, or Sunburns
black walnut hulls for Parasites/worms or to catch fish
mostly Recondo School in Nha Trang, Vietnam, some from Marine Expeditionary Force Training, some from my Grandpa
plain aspirin is very under-rated by our pharma company controlled meds, put it right on a sore tooth, mix it into a paste for a poultice, use it with stronger meds to increase their effectiveness. Reduces fever, inflammation and pain.

You're right on TW about the great info we're rewarded with from other members in the know.
Unfortunately zinc is one of the few things I'm allergic too. It leaves a strong metallic taste in my mouth plus I get nauseated.

Because zinc is so important across numerous functions, a deficiency of zinc can cause a host of problems. People with zinc deficiency can experience vision and hearing loss, susceptibility to infections, delayed sexual maturation (in men), stunted growth, hair loss, appetite and weight loss, dry skin, and anemia. Proper zinc intake is especially important to the development of growing children.
Daily Requirements According to the Office of Dietary Supplements, you need somewhere between 2 milligrams and 13 milligrams of zinc daily, depending on your age. Infants need the least and breastfeeding teenagers need the most. A man requires 11 milligrams, while women need 8 milligrams. You can eat foods rich in zinc -- including oysters, poultry and red meat -- or opt for a supplement. Most multivitamins contain some level of zinc. Any of the three available forms of zinc -- zinc gluconate, zinc acetate and zinc sulfate -- will work.

I learned the hard way. Ran my finger through a circular saw and my Dr. recommended the Zinc to facilitate "wound healing."

wound healing = honey
seals it, converts to hyd peroxide and vs other beneficial things
just hard as hell to keep in place
