Well I think I have a little bit of infection in my finger wound. No pain but it healed over tight and I noticed red streaks up the inside of both adjoining fingers.
I'm thinking it can't drain any more.
So I boiled the scab off with some peroxide and then introduced it to some alcohol.
YEAH BOY! That set me on fire.
Then I squeezed all around it for awhile until it just had good clean bright blood coming out and wiped it down again with alcohol then peroxide until it quit bubbling, filled it up with antibiotic cream and bandaged it up.
I have not had to put a bandage on it for a week except when I put a glove on.
Maybe racking slides and loading mags today was a bad idea.
Well I still have some of the very strong antibiotic I had been taking for it so I'll take them for a few days and see how it goes.
dang I wanted to save them for my BOB
I have enough to take 2 every six hours for two days so I will drain/clean/change on that schedule and see how it looks Tuesday morning.

Hmmmm. Remember this? "no real garden due to shooting my finger off, berries are existing so all I planted was about 30' of potatoes and the 10 tomato plants" That's all huh? Lol. Not bad for seven fingers and two thumbs. Don't get it dirty yet. Read more: survivalbunker.proboards.com/thread/10070/garden-exactly#ixzz3Zp0P2GzSMaybe you're rushing it s bit. Maybe you should wear a surgical glove under your regular (not so clean on the inside) glove. Or maybe, just maybe you could just do something that doesn't involve manual labor or excessive use of your three finger hand. Lol

surgical glove gets to hot
I have been covering it with a pad and taping it up before putting a glove on, then washing it good with surgical soap after I am done.
Its been more than a month, time for the hand to man up and get over it.

Those streaks can be blood poisoning and it moves fast. Seems to me (not a doctor) you should see your doc about that. It can kill you. I have never heard that you can defeat blood poisoning yourself with any type of cleaning. Hoping for the best for you.

I understand and I am taking a very strong anti-biotic every six hours, I am not depending on just the cleaning
But remember I also drained quite a bit out of it, I think that was a big part of it. No red up my arm.
It does look much better right now 11:47 PM EST
If it still has any issues in the AM I do plan to go to the DR.

On blood poisoning, I do have some experience.
We had this guard dog where I worked and he was nice as could be ............. unless you reached out to pet him the normal way, with the back of your hand up.
Well, I closed and I was running late and I was in a hurry
I reached out to scratch his ears before I took him off his chain and , with the back of my hand up
BAM!!!!!!
He grabbed on to the heal of my palm, right below my thumb
he was stretched by his chain and I was stretched as far as I could pull back, but I could feel the meat ripping out
I had a gun but in my back pocket
But I had the money sack in my left hand and I hit him with it as hard as I could
It didn't hurt him but he turned loose to get another bite
So I drove myself to the hospital with my hand wrapped in a towel dripping lots of blood
In the ER the nurse took off the towel and looked at me like I should be passing out, I told her I had already seen it
The heal of my hand was pulled up to my thumb down to the bone
The worst part was when they scrubbed it out with a nylon brush, no matter how many numbing shots they put in it, it was rubbing right on exposed nerves
Now this was a very small east TX hospital and it was after hours, Dr on call was doing his residency
His mistake was sewing it up nice and tight so it couldn't drain
Over night my right hand was swollen till all the fingers were touching, nothing they had gave be stopped the pain and I had red streaks up to my shoulder.
So I went to Dallas to a big hospital.
ER Dr took one look got something out of a drawer, held my hand over a stainless steel sink, poured a bottle of betadine over my hand an before I knew what he had in mind, cut my palm right through the stiches.
Lots of stuff not good clean blood cme out
Only time I remember something hurting and feeling good at the same time.
Then I got 500 CC or whatever penicillin in my right shoulder and in my right butt check, the next day the same in the left and alternating for a week.
After it was done the Dr told me he had not been sure I was going to make it at first
After that the next time I had a shot of penicillin I went into shock. I had been given so much I became allergic to it.
So yeah, blood poisoning can happen quick.
