Wife's uncle gave me a 1978 honda goldwing 1000cc. Needs some repairs but in the end it should be worth it. Anyone have an experience with this bike?

I've experienced three Gold Wings. Great bikes. Best big bike on the road. My first was an '82. My last two were an '06 and '07. The '06 I owned for 27 hrs, 377 miles. Then thr guy hit me and totaled it. And almost me

I used to go to the Wing Ding (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) every year in Levenworth, Washington. Several guys in the shop I worked in had GWs and we made it an annual event.......I rode my Harley, but they made me feel welcome. The GW was/is a great bike. Haven't ridden one in years though.

Changed the coolant, oil and a few hoses. It has been 20 years since it has been on the road. it is going into the shop for a carb rebuild and a few other safty issues. Mech says it looks really good. Also new batt and tires

New tires i hope? Edit; belay my last. Missed it at first glance. Those are great bikes. Many of my friends tour on them.
