Howdy, Gang! Sorry, I've been mostly absent in the recent past. My life has been running on overdrive. One thing keeping me busy is teaching a new course called STEM Guitar -- Students learn STEM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in the process of building their own solid-body electric guitar, from scratch; and, they take the guitar home at the end of the semester. This semester, one of my students is a champion archer -- young Tyler Anderson... Tyler decided to take my STEM Guitar course; and, he designed an arrow guitar. I thought it was so cool, I just had to share it here... That's very cool. Nicely done and that's a young man pursuing his passion. Midpoint with some help and encouragement from a pretty cool teacher. Thanks for posting.

I just love the creative thought processing used to make this guitar. This young man is going places with his multi-talents.

It's gorgeous and will be shown to my students Angelhelp! You may want to check this out: www.guitarbuilding.org . This is funded by the National Science Foundation. This summer they are offering free Instructor Institutes for any High School or Community College teachers who may wish to do this same thing at their own school. Some of the summer sessions are closed, but some are still open. You, or another teacher from your school, would need to apply, right away! It's free, plus you get a $300.00 stipend for going, plus they give you lunch each day, plus you make your own guitar to take home at the end of the week. It's a full, 50-hour week, with homework; but, it's a great experience. It's how I got started a few years ago, and I've taught it at our school (Kankakee Community College), ever since. My school is hosting one of the summer institutes for instructors, and I know we still have a few seats open. Wanna come to Illinois for a week?

My school is preK - 8 of which I'm in the K - 8 part. I can pass the word to others in the high schools, though! Thanks!
