Had I kept up with practicing it more often I wouldn't have had to ask you to repost the video to freshen up making the cordage in the first place. Thanks a mill my friend.

When learning a new skill it takes time for the knowledge to sink in. It's like me when it comes to learning a new knot...three days later and I've forgotten how to tie it

Thanks OT. I have made cordage from yucca. It makes a very strong and resilient rope. We are blessed with many species of plants to make cordage from.
Having said that, I generally have #60 bank cord and 550 with me at all times. I also am a sucker for the inexpensive 3/8-1/2 rope when I happen upon it somewhere. Probably never need to make cordage but then better to never get caught flatfooted.

I picked up a huge pile of baling rope someone was getting rid of and decided to double its thickness. Seems like something handy to keep in my truck.

Other then that it's the excitement of making tools form natural material...then using it to help your cause. Like when i made cordage for fishing line and caught several creek chubs using that cordage and one bluegill...i was on top the world that day...and like the bowdrill or friction fire...just makes you feel good.
