I hope this isn't taken as cold hearted cause I love Missasip like a brother. I respect his decisions and I know if anyone has and will continue to love and live his life on his terms it's him. He enjoys life and he's giving back to his mom like the great guy he is. So I'm not sad for him. Just lots of respect. That can be said about so many here on this forum. Many have and continue to face difficulties and hardships and yet they're still standing tall and doing what needs to be done. In spite of and sometimes because of the obstacles they face. We all have been given a shot at this life and we do with the best we can. Makes me proud to be a small part of this great family. All right jerk. So I chose the word "sad" to express my deep admiration for this big "Teddy Bear" of a man and very dear friend. Deal with it or meet me at the Cajunlady Corral on Saturday the 25th of March, Highway 90, next door to Spahr's Seafood Restaurant. After I whip your behind we can chow down on real Cajun cuisine at your expense of course! Watch it....here it comes.... Now that's funny I don't care who you are.... Jimmy

You big lug. You don't have to explain your stance anymore. We all love you but then you already know that. You do what you feel is best for yourself and you'll go very far in life.

I take 8 meds in the AM and 12 in the PM (some are same just 2 doses) and 2 of them are to counter act the side effects of others.
I think I said it before but I went into the DR office once with a daily dose in my hand and complained about the number of pills and what could we do to make it less. So he gave me another pill for depression!!!!! Like MS said you can't win you just have to do it and live with it as it comes.
The whole reason I was in the hospital this last time was because I cut my "rat poison" warfarin/COUMADIN dose (on my own) because I wanted to take real aspirin for a headache,
WRONG THING TO DO I have to keep my blood clotting INR at around 3.5 and I let it get down to .5 every time I get below 1 I get a blood clot on my plastic heart valve and it goes up my carotid artery and I have a stroke. First time took left side vision from both eyes, another one left me with some right side leg and hand issues
This last time I was luckier and it didn't lodge anywhere new, but I will tell you my brain synapses or whet ever were not firing correctly, I couldn't make sense of anything and I couldn't say what I wanted to say, just gobbelgook.
And like yesterday I didn't take my diuretic and that caused my feet to swell til my boots didn't fit
Anyway the bottom line is we have to take our meds even if they cause side effects because the side effects are less of an issue then not taking them would be.
I was born allergic to codeine. Since then I have become allergic to PENICILLIN, OXY + ACETAMIN, Morphine, Sulpha, CIPRO and INSECT STINGS
And finding out I was allergic when I had not been the last time I took any of them almost killed me each time, because I don't just get a rash, I go into Anaphylaxis shock big time with each one. It seems like each decade I get super allergic to something else I need to take and the choices are getting smaller.
What used to be do or die is now do and die it's just crazy

No problems with me.

.....and I might add....some of the reasons for these new high powered drugs is the resistance to older traditional antibiotics....some of which was caused by the overuse of them by doctors as a cure-all for everthing.... A bit ironic would you say.... Jimmy And that right there is why, when the doctor says "I'll just prescribe an antibiotic for you as a precaution," I say no thanks, I'll let my body fight its own fights and become stronger because of it. I'm already allergic to the cillins and sulfas because some gung-ho doctor decided to pump me full of one or the other for some stupid reason. The only Rx I take right now is Xarelto 20mg, and that's because I could die if I don't take it (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and I want to live. And that's another whole story too, which I already told elsewhere in the Bunker, how I couldn't afford to get it b/c of Medicare donut hole but I found a free trial offer. Oh, and the Canadian Rx for that arrived today, so I now have 4 months' worth.

When I was pre-admitting for my knee surgery the clerk asked me and another soon to be patient if we had objections against using Xarelto. If you have a VA connection for meds, you can bypass this medicine which is what we both did. Just informing everyone if you would prefer more options, this is one way to do it.
