So, like a lot of people, we deep fried a turkey for Thanksgiving but used an electric deep fryer/steamer/boiler instead of a propane heated pot. Used 3 gallons of peanut oil and the turkey was great as usual. The electric fryer gave me more control over the oil temp and I liked that So the next day I went out on the deck to clean the cooker and I am looking at this 3 gallons of perfectly good peanut oil. So I go to the freezer and find two whole chickens and a half a dozen quail, which I thaw out and using the turkey injector, inject the chickens and quail with some butter mixed with BBQ sauce. get the oil back to 375 and drop them in for 10 minutes on the quail and 25 for the chickens. Umm, umm. So the next day I go to the deck and find 3 gallons of perfectly good peanut oil, find some pork chops I had cut at 1 1/2 inch thick to BBQ and coat them in some shake and bake mixed with a little "Patties" rub and cook them for 10 minutes. Now I like my BBQ and I am especially fond of BBQ pork ribs. But those thick cut chops deep fried were very tender and moist and took thaw time plus 15 minutes prep and cook when I would have BBQed them about 4 hours in the smoker. The reason I brought this up was I just finished a fried porkchop sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes and cheese. yum yum www.walmart.com/ip/Butterball-XL-Indoor-Electric-Fryer/175006400?wmlspartner=wmtlabs&adid=22222222222040756758&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=e&wl1=o&wl2=c&wl3=10355179444&wl4=kwd-1103076464711&wl12=175006400_0&wl14=butterball%20frier&veh=semand got it for 1/2 that price on sale TG day.

Just picked up my first turkey fryer (propane) at a yard sale. I've eaten a bunch, but never cooked any. Looking forward to it.
