Plarn=plastic yard out of disposable plastic bags. I found this video interesting. I guess it is crocheting (since using that kind of needle). Thought this might be usable as a bugout mat. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr_WHW_tGSE

You are right. It is done with a crochet needle. Many of my friends have fashioned small and large purses as well as decorative seasonal items and sell them to have a few extra bucks in their pockets.

My friend who worked at the post office, which was very slow at times since it's a tiny town that we live in, asked for donations of bags. I brought her over 1000. She made me the most beautiful "go bag" in terms of going to the grocery store for something small that you didn't even know you were going to get but remembered on the way home. I use it every day to carry my prayer books to church, pick up small things at the store.
She cut each 8/9 strips from each bag and crocheted them.

I would like to make some things like that, but it might be above my abilities. It also might take me a long time to collect enough bags.
