Global Warming I guess.
We already had one batch of blackberries in March now we have two patches with berries again.
We did a cobbler in March, if the birds will leave enough berries we will do another in a few days.

New post MAY 8, 2023
Never even looked in March, didn't think about it, if someone had asked would have thought it was too late
Got a 3 gallon bucket from one patch this morning, two more patches found but not picked yet, gotta beat the birds tomorrow.
Found them picking up things the dog is chewing on and leaving around the fenced back yard, fence on 3 sides, blackberry bushes/vines growing on the fences on three sides
Just had not thought about them this year, lots of red/not ripe yet so they are not done growing yet. I see that the post in 2021 was in May too I've got to mark them on a calendar, I bet it depends on how warm it is, we have not had a freeze after Easter since 2014, I remember that freeze because it is when my Son had his MC wreck,
Going to make a cobbler tonight. Freeze anything else we get to make a cobbler later this year. Wife/mate makes cherry cobbler often, its my favorite, but blackberry cobbler with BLUE BELL Homemade Vanilla ice cream eats pretty good.
I got hung on BLUE BELL when we lived in TX. Even had friends freeze and over night some here in SC and to KY a few years, then it started showing up here, not all the time, but some times, then I think in 2015 they were shut down for a while, then we could get it in NC now its at Kroger and SAMS most of the time. Reading back it sounds pretty extreme but it is dang good

I sure do miss picking any kind of berries at this point. Haven't done it in years now.

I had a nice patch of thornless blackberries going. Then the deer or maybe porcupines destroyed them. They are trying to bounce back but I doub't I'll get much off of them this year.
