I came across a series from England (BBC) called "Wartime Farm". It relates how the British had to deal with shortages and rationing during WW2. It is available on Youtube. It had a lot of survival aspects to it. They showed what a weeks ration was. THey even showed how the black market worked. Here is the link for episode 1. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUsU5s0ofYo

There is another series called 1940s house it is on YouTube also. It takes a modern family and they live like it was the 1940s. They have the rations, air raids, Anderson shelters etc.
