It's been awhile since I said anything on here, but that's because of how busy I've gotten.
Since I got my laptop fixed I've been gaining traction -- quickly I might add -- as a music arranger for the brass quintet I'm involved with. It's one of the only things I've been able to do until recently because getting a functioning work email took months to accomplish.
We're getting more and more settled here on base, but there are still some things to take care of. I need to file a claim on stuff that got damaged during the move (but this is the first move we've had where nothing actually went missing), and I need to try to finish transferring my almost-40 days of leave to the Army. There are further plans ahead this year though...
My 1st Sergeant (senior enlisted leader) is on board with the idea that I go and do things here that I wasn't able to pursue while a Marine. These include competing for a couple of German badges (the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, and the German Armed Forces Shooting Badge), and later in the summer head to Camp Perry and try out for the Prez 100. I also need to go fulfill the basic leadership course because the Army won't accept my previous courses and experience in the Marines as an NCO (nobody said The Army was bereft of bovinal feces), but at least once that's happened I can be promotable, and getting to the next rank is something I need to accomplish sooner vs later; especially because this band I'm in is on the chopping block (four Army bands are to be disbanded by FY25). There's also the basic annual stuff expected of each soldier, but that's all fairly trivial in comparison as far as I can tell.

Always good to hear that you are making progress in your quest! I am an avid recreational shooter so I notice when you mention shooting. Do they give you a chance to shoot long range?
