I have a L'equip Filter Pro, and love it. I have extra trays for it too. Found ten of them in a box in a thrift shop, $3 for the whole box. SCORE! LOL

I have the Excaliber. Actually have two. One is the old harvest maid before it was bought out. Gotta be 30 years old and still goes strong. Never dehydrated soup. Wouldn't have a clue as to how to do that. For fruit leathers and other syrupy foods you'll need the Teflon inserts for the trays. Don't get them from excaliber though. They're out of sight price wise and other suppliers have them for far far less.

If by soup like meals you mean veggies to use in soups, heck yeah. I do all sorts of vegs and fruits. I just finished a big batch of raisins, but I do a lot of sliced cabbage, potatoes, carrots, zukes, mushrooms (LOTS of mushrooms), onions, leafy greens like chard and spinach, etc. Just ask if you need help.

I think I see some of the confusion here..... 720flysurvive wants to dehydrate actual soup..... most of us dehydrate the component parts and add water...... I think it would be easier to do the component parts personally You will always have to add water either way.....

Yes and see the wife cooks for an army all the time, so I'm going to get a dehydrator and turn left overs ( that I can't keep up with ) and use them for backpacking and what not. Hoping to free up some freezer space and add to preps Haven't bottom any thing for canning yet and this seams to be heading in the right direction, kill two birds with one stone type of thing
