Ok, so yer situation goes south, waters gone, powers gone, terlet don't work no more. Ya gotta go sooner er later an a outhouse just ain't cuttin it right now. What ta do?
5 gallon bucket toilet ring tp er paper towel cheap kitty litter lime 13 gallon trash bags
The set up, put a plastic bag in the bucket, put a scoop a litter in next. Litter be fer pee then if ya go #2, put a scoop a lime on top a that. The lime will help with the smell. Ifin ya wan't an ya got it ta spare, ya can use a spray disenfectant to (got that from a rite smart feller on another forum).
Dependin on how many folk ya got usin this setup, it'll last from a couple a days ta a week. Just be sure ya bury it outdoors an not anywhere nears a source a water.
We bought a porta loo, a 5 gallon bucket with the terlit ring already attached. They was on sale cheaper then just the bucket!
Waste be one thin we wanna deal with proper, collera an other diseases come from improper sanitation.

Around here, we'd be hard-pressed to get far enough away from the water. If things went that far south, we'd have had to bug out.

Since we are on septic and have a water source near being able to flush is not an issue. at the BOL we have an outhouse. As for paper we keep old phone books. lots of pages and the stack quite nicely so are easy to store.

Yep, have a bucket toilet, I found the bags for smaller cans work fine and are cheaper. TP is favorite.
You never guess though what I have for back up....my mom never throwed nothing away...i I have 17 Sears and JCP 1960s catalogs. You know, the ones with 1200-1500 pages in them. Plus 3 NYC phone books.....
