Some time ago I asked for help in purchasing a bicycle survivalbunker.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=vehicles&action=display&thread=1008and I wanted to share what I got It's a TREK Mt Bike 830. It had a flat tire but that's all I could find wrong with it. Sure does ride nice. Thanks again for all the advise given in the other thread. I want to add some accessorizes to it like some kind of rack to carry stuff kick stand etc.

I'd sure like to have one if I could set up straight on it. I just don't have enough neck to ride looking down. LOL

Good for you, a trek is a very good bike as I have had two of them. My first was a trek 830 that was stolen from me.....great bike The one I have now is a 8000 it was top of the line years ago and still a very good bike. If you can, buy an odometer for your bike it will tell you things like your speed and miles traveled. Great for a day out camping, just don't forget patches and extra tube plus air pump. A must have if you are going miles away. The most important thing to have is a very comfortable seat. They are costly but well worth the money.Seat adjustment as to height is also very important. i can do a video for you as to all the important aspect of setting up your bike to be rider friendly. Riding gloves with padded palms is a plus, if you need to sit up straighter buy a longer goose neck and higher handle bars. This set up will have you sitting upright, less weight on your arms. I could go on and on but i will stop here....have fun with your new toy

Well I put a new seat on it and I'm still learning how to take care of it from cleaning to adjusting. There's a lot to one of these bikes I have found.
I want to set up more, so like suggested I will be looking at a new riser and handle bars. Want a luggage rack on the back too. A tool bag is in the works.
