Got the dehydrator full a beef stew an chicken an dumplins.
I dry these then put em in vac bags. Then they go inta the packs. Good food fer lots cheaper then the foil bag stuff ya get in the store!
$1.79 fer the stew er dumplins, 35 cents fer the vac bag, a bit a time an a cheap meal that be more servins then the camp stuff!

That sounds so awesome. I love to see pics if you can, while in the dehydrator and when bagged.

Do you just dry the pieces seoperated from the juice...or do you include the juice as well?
Do you use the fruit roll up sheets for this process?
How long and at what temp do you process them?

The beef stew be thick enough ta just dry right outa the can. Chicken an dumplins I drain off some a the juice otherwise it just takes that much longer. Yup, put em on the roll up sheets. The sticker on my temp dial long ago fell off, I'm guessin it be about 120°. Generally takes overnight. I do soup the same way. Use either the condensed soup er the thick ones.

Fer those a yall what wanted ta see it, here be the pics: This be the Chicken an dumplins shortly after goin in the dehydrator. This be the beef stew shortly after goin in the dehydrator. The dried chicken an dumplins. The dried beef stew. The gravy turns real dark after dryin. In the vac bags an ready ta go inta packs. When ready ta use I just put em in my canteen cup an add bout 2/3rds cup a boilin water in. Let it set fer a few minutes while I do some other stuff round camp an ya got a nice tastey warm meal fer lessin 2 bucks.
