wow! what a great resource! Had I not read this I would have probably served rice and beans in a 1:1 ratio or possibly 2:1 ratio but if you are talking about protein and fat needs alone then you can serve rice and beans in a 3:1 ratio or almost 4:1 ratio if serving rice and soybeans!!
That is great to know, not only can I stretch my existing stores much farther this way, but also in the future I can start stocking up heavier on rice since in the past I've been storing approx. 1 bucket of rice for every 1 bucket of beans...
anyone who does bulk storage knows that white rice is the cheapest food to store on a per calorie basis....so this is good news indeed!
