I have often thought that preparing for the fictional Zombie Apocalypse is a fun but very valid route to take in preparing oneself for an actual real world event. Since Zombies don't exist, (or do they? I only ask this as an aside in light of recent news reports that are quite troubling and could point in that general direction) I find that taking various tests are a nice baseline to start ones prep planning. Only by exposing faults and shortcomings in training and supplies can one learn to think in different terms. Here are the results of one such test I just took:

-= click to take @ NerdTests.com =-
The test is located here: www.nerdtests.com/mq/uttake.php?id=59396Take it and let us know how you did!

I know a guy that got a 30% once. I'm not going to name names, but his initials was MAC.

Poor MAC! Need to study before the actual event is upon us! Here is another test that I found rather thought provoking: www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/531344I managed to get an overall grade of B on it but my Mental rating was very high and my experience rating was slightly higher still... now that being said I managed to rate rather average in the physical rating and oddly enough my emotional rating was very low; which seemed to be a positive aspect in this test! (I think being sort of a lone wolf ensures survival in that scenario which really makes a lot of sense!)

This was the first test I ever found based on Max Brooks' World War Z. This test is an older one (from several years ago) but it is the one that really got me to thinking about survival as a serious matter. Plus the book itself is really good at making you think about what you would do in similar circumstances! the test is no longer available on the regular Internet so you have to use the Internet Archive to get to it, It's called the World War Z Survival Risk Calculator: web.archive.org/web/20110508045354/http://www.randomhouse.com/crown/worldwarz/index2.phpI think I managed to get about 68% when I first took it. Everyone should take it, post their scores... and then sit back and seriously think about what it would take in training and preparations to increase those scores! It can only help in the event of a real world event.

MAC will just have to impress him with his good looks and ruggedly handsome features.

I made a 68 on that first one. I'm sure the fact that I don't own a motorboat or an airplane doesn't help the score. Guess I've got to work on some things. Or I can just stay ahead of Mac and WC.

Well I got a 65. Kind of reminds me of high school. I think the 308 v. 3006 question was bogus. To me it comes to a personal preference between the two. Addtionally I guess there are lots of planes lying around for me to jump into and take of to some deserted island.
