TNT is showing back to back episodes of this movie tonight, June 9, starting at 7:00 Central time in my area. Check your local listings.
I haven't read the book or seen the movie so here's my chance.

Good thing I have the DVD cause I gave up satellite tv over a year ago. You'll really like the movie.. it prompted me to buy a bible just for the purpose of having it when SHTF.

I'm not at all religious and I loved the movie. The plot line basically focused on "evil" men trying to gain access to the bible with which to gain control of the "sheep"....
whether you are a sheep or a sheep dog you have to love the way this movie plays out....

Once the pace picked up after the first ten minutes I was not disappointed. What truly amazed me was the fact that he did all his travels and fighting using his other senses 'cause he was blind. Too, it was a sad ending but he did complete his mission.

Hmmm CL I don't think he was blind. There were to many things he did (shoot the bird out of the sky with an arrow, locking her in where the spring water was, recognizing graves at the old people's home by looking out the door, etc). I think he just learned how to read braille but I don't believe he was blind. But that was just my opinion.

I think his eyes were supose to be partially damaged due to a lack of protection from the sun...maybe he was partially blind, but in certain lighting and such he could see some? I know peope like that now, so it wouldn't be to far fetched. It would give him a reason for knowing how to read braille if his eyes didn't work close up. But why he could do and recognise certain things from a distance.
I thought it was a pretty good movie. But then I don't watch many movies.

After watching the movie i gave it two thumbs up. I like the fact that the movie pointed out that the bible can be used for bad as well as good, much like today.
