Anyone else read this book by William Forstchen (One Second After)?
It'll make you stop and think and wish the smallest caliber you owned was a .45.

Second in the series? One second after was decent. No. This is different in that it's a one day attack by ISIS in several locations around the USA. It is a worst case scenario that happens with predictable reactions by Americans. Definitely will start a discussion around the table. It's a whole different fire drill.

Haven't read this new one. I did like the One Second After. My take away from it was his struggle with his daughter who passed because she could not get insulin. Made me think of how screwed soooo many people will be at about the 90 day mark when all the meds run out. Ill keep a look out for the new one - sounds good.

I read it. I think he threw it together pretty quickly. The writing is not as good as OSA. The story is extra scary because it could easily happen.
One part was IMO really silly and added for dramatic effect. I can't imagine even the densest group of people doing it but I won't say what it was so I don't ruin the story.
It's one of those books I almost wish wasn't written because it's a blue print for disaster.

I agree with you CGU particularly on first two points. The last paragraph I think he wrote that because that's what these terrorists have done before and how poorly most Americans will react when it happens. Sand is a wonderful filter. For water. Not so much when it comes to how ruthless these fanatical freaks are

Forgot all about this. Just downloaded the day of wrath on audible. I have about 45 hours of books to listen to.
I downloaded unbeatable mind by Mark divine, navy seal type. Interesting book. I'm having a hard time with some of what he is saying but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I found it difficult to read in some places. Worse is just how easy much of it could be to pull off

I read it. The story is extra scary because it could easily happen. It's one of those books I almost wish wasn't written because it's a blue print for disaster. I feel that way about many movies being made. Too many sadistic copy catters out in this world who relish these ideas being thrown out there for them because they just hadn't thought of such and such a scenario until they read/watched it. Another problem I have is all these reality programs showing military anything and their strategies. FBI headquarters, same thing. Why is it so important for them to broadcast investigations and their strategies. Too much info in my opinion. Whatever became of the element of surprise.

I read it recently based on my sons recommendation. Scares the crap out of me because the ending is how the current powers that be think.
