What can I say, I grew up in the '80's. I was a huge fan of Bruce Lee and every kid on my block thought chucks were THE weapon of choice. I spent a lot of hours twirling them and whacking my elbows but got to be pretty fair at using them. I do not know the practical application of these other than to say I have been using this pair as a pseudo-work out tool to get a little of my hand coordination and grip back. Dont think Ill be engaging hordes of would be martial art assassins anytime soon. Anyway my friends enjoy the pictorial of how I repurposed two old hammer handles I had doing nothing: Started with two matching hickory handles: Drilled a few holes and carved a trough for the cord: Here is the cord being run through in a traditional method. When you get both sides done you just tie a square knot in it and adjust it to hide in the larger top hole for a smooth appearance: A coat of stove paint-it is super flat black for the "stealthy Ninja"! Lol My finished nunchaku with a little American flag stickers (my daughter's idea ) I had fun making these and think I did ok for what they are. This pair is a bit long, slow, and heavy for my liking but, they are mainly for messing with and getting a little exercise. They are tough though and solid. My next project will be a pair of traditional styled tonfa. Plan to modify some wooden bats for that purpose. Stay tuned! My next set of pics might just be of my self inflicted head injuries!!!!! Lol
