I have two tomahawks from this company, the trail hawk and the rifleman's hawk. I have put them through the paces but have not been able to do any damage even though I have tried. They are a subsidiary of Cold Steel and are priced pretty reasonably. www.coldsteel.com/Category/7_1/Tomahawks.aspx

I have a trail hawk and a custom made one I got from a smith when I was in Texas. That little Trail Hawk is a good one for the money. Most guys turn the set screw around and grind it down flush to give it a smoother look.

Mine, not so much. They make ones balanced and double sided for that. As for me, I can not ever see a real practical reason to throw a tommy at something other than for the sake of target fun.

Let's see, what was that? Seems like the native folk used to do something with those things? Hummmm? Mine, not so much. They make ones balanced and double sided for that. As for me, (I can not ever see a real practical reason to throw a tommy) at something other than for the sake of target fun.

This fella would disagree A little more realistically, I would not want to be on the wrong side of this guy.

Ok, ok. I get it, we got some throwers around here! So,let me start by saying 1) A tommy to the face is not on my bucket list, definitely a game ender. 2) I was wrong about the double sided thing although, I have seen "throwers" that were dbl sided. 3) I still think throwing a hawk to kill or wound an opponent is still high risk strategy with little chance of pay off. 4) Being the guy I am, I can 100% see the fun in whipping hawks out back and hearing that ever so satisfying thud when it sticks. He said it best for me in the video, throwing one is more or less a parlor trick and when you miss, it is now his tommy. He also states what I firmly believe, it is an awesome melee weapon for that up close and personal touch. I give him props, he is good at target throwing. Not gonna lie, wanna go get me a couple more now to round out my very small collection .
