i asked Marc about it, but no answer yet
they seem to have had great success with their elect/batt cars, stock keeps going up, seems something with their batt is better than others
giving a whole house turn-key package with financing
at least they seem to be moving forward while most are standing still

I'm a tad confused by all the hubbub over Elon Musk's new battery pack. In truth, it's just a battery. It still needs to be charged; and, if you have 120vac loads, you still need an inverter to complete the package.
I haven't really dug into it yet; but, in order to be something worth raving about, it needs to be smaller, lighter, and cheaper than comparable lead-acid batteries. It also needs to have a much longer cycle life with at least the same acceptable depth of discharge as the old lead-acid workhorse.
If Tesla can pack the same number of kWhrs into a smaller, cheaper package, and give it at least 50% more deep-cycle calendar years, I'll be a fan. If not, I don't see the point.

I have been trying to find some info as well but I haven't found anything that supports the hype so far....
