Well I've never made a gumbo with these ingredients but there's always a first time for everything. Today I emptied my fridge freezer to find what I wasn't sure was in there. It doesn't take long for those freezers to become topsy turvy. Well besides large packs of various meats I found small packs of Italian sausage, smoked sausage, diced ham, diced chicken, pack of chicken gizzards, sliced chicken for Fajitas someone gave me which I don't cook to eat and cocktail sausages packets needing to be cooked. So I guess you're wondering what the heck I'll cook to use these up. HA! Add a fresh pack of smothered okra and I'll have a one of a kind gumbo. While I was on a roll I took a ten lb. tip roast from the fridge, sliced it thin, the whole thing. Took me a while but I got it done. It's now marinating in all kinds of goodie seasonings and Tuesday I'll dehydrate it. It's a birthday treat to myself.

Here I sit thinking of getting something to eat, and you show up. Umm umm. Surely wish you were closer in cuz I'd share. The pot is filled and large enough to feed a small army. It actually tastes good. You never know unless you try.

Wow! Just finished a bowlful of gumbo. Topped it off with File' and Jalapeno relish, then chowed down. That's what I call the Cajun Sweat. Between the heat of the gumbo and the heat of the jalapeno relish, it doesn't take long to clear the sinus'.

I may surprise you someday? Spoon me out a batch before tooo much heat. LoL The gumbo was hot from cooking it. The heat from the jalapeno relish was added to my bowl of gumbo only.

Now that is the way to use up those mystery packets we seem to accumulate in our freezers. Now you know that you have a new gumbo recipe. If shtf I think a lot of folks are gonna find out what using what you have is all about. Being a country girl I learned that method of cooking growing up.
I would love to visit and have some real LA gumbo but too dang hot and humid for me.
I always like your cooking posts.
