Here is a video using a magnafy lens to make fire. I used jute to make the nest then put a piece of dry punk wood into the nest and concentrated the hot spot on the punkwood until it started to smoke. Then closed up the jute nest and gently blew on the nest till I got fire

So was this in real time how quickly the ounkwood started to smolder? I think it would be nice if we included how long or how many tries it takes to get to the point of fire in the nest. Because sometimes these methods take awhile and a video makes it look like it was a breeze because of the editing that has happen to get the video on youtube etc.
Good Job!!

It's the real thing no tricks or editing . I would never do that just to make myself look like a super duper outdoors person. You can believe what you see on my videos

A Fresnel lens of that size would heat it up fast. That looked like a 10x8" or so lens. It would probably be about triple that time if you halved the size of the lens. Good demonstration offtrail.

Great video and technique OT. Not knocking your videos but BTW does brings up some great points when vids demonstrating skills and techniques are posted. It does give us more valuable info of what to expect give or take to try it ourselves. JMO
