Yeah, I was out in the woods the other day and ran across a toad and it spoke to me in a gorgeous female voice. The girl toad said "If you pick me up and kiss me I will turn into a supermodel looking hottie and satisfy your every desire for the rest of your days" I picked up the female toad and put her in my shirt pocket and went on my way. A but later the girl toad asked me " Hey, Aren't you gonna kiss me and turn me into your own supermodel?" I looked into my shirt pocket and said " Nah.... I think I would rather have a talking toad!!!" ROFLMAOSHIHTP!!!! Good one...I don't blame you! By the way...I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING FOR CHRISTMAS!!! ;D ;D ;D I hope it's a Talkin Toad!

I think you might have a starling egg in your CW nest...I do not think that blue egg is a CW egg and you might should boot it out.....The starling will boot the WC's from the nest once they hatch. I love watching the CW's around here....

Thank You sirderrin! That caught my eye as well but was going to have to look up the eggs of both to make sure I got the right one. The Starlings round here are miserable as are the Brown Head Cowbirds (which I thought was the egg donor)
The Wrens on the other hand are just a pair of clowns! They have been in every room in my house looking for a place to build! Every out building too! I'm really happy that they picked the front porch fern though so I can watch the chicks and share the coming photos here with you guys.
I'll look up that egg deal and confirm in the morning and then it will be eviction time for somebody!

Uhh I think I know who's getting the harsh eviction notice in the morning! Taken from the Cornell University of Orinthology. © ashockenberry The Brown-headed Cowbird is a stocky blackbird with a fascinating approach to raising its young. Females forgo building nests and instead put all their energy into producing eggs, sometimes more than three dozen a summer. These they lay in the nests of other birds, abandoning their young to foster parents, usually at the expense of at least some of the host’s own chicks. Once confined to the open grasslands of middle North America, cowbirds have surged in numbers and range as humans built towns and cleared woods.

Booted out the Cowbird to be today! That leaves the two little Wren eggs. Maybe they will have a better chance now. I enjoy Wrens much better than I do Cowbirds.

Cow birds tend to get a load of rat shot around me.....sometimes it is just a regular .22 ball depending on how far they are.....good job on giving him the boot....

Yep, I'm keeping an eye on the soon to be avian nursery and will be posting photos as soon as they hatch! Come to think of it I haven't checked them this AM? Now that is quite a neighbor to have stop over! Man, I would LOVE to see a Moose in the wild. I bet after a while they can be a real PIA huh?

Update of the Front Porch Wildlife.Checked on my critters this morning and I'm sad to report that the Cardinal nest was raided at some point and it is abandoned and empty No chicks or eggs and Mom and Dad are not around to fuss at me checkin in. Prime suspect I believe would have to be the Ribbon Gater Snake I photoed in the Azaleas earlier? Oh well what can I say Good news is my Toad Buddy is back from his girlfriends place and is back in his home pot no worse for wear. He sure fairs better from his carousing than I do! Still just one Wren Chick in the Fern Nest, the second egg has not hatched and I'm now starting to wonder if it will or not. The one chick is gaining size, so far so good. I didn't photo the Wren, just a quick peak and left. Here are a couple Photos-
