I'm sure once addicts start going through withdrawal of whatever their addiction is, they'll start experimenting with many other dried leaves to get their fix. Maybe we should just collect rolling papers and pipes then let them find what they want to use them for. It is waaay darned cool to have this discussion in past tense - and using words like "them" and "their." Marc

Don't get me wrong, I understand the trade value of tobacco post apocalypse. However, it amounts to being in the business of addiction. Nicotine is an addictive drug. Someone having a nervous nicfit post apocalypse is likely to be armed.
I am not sure of the wisdom in trading such an item in an environment like that.

Cwi555,
I do see your point - but then addiction to food is pretty potent too. Along with meds that might save your child, or.......
But, you are right. The key will be approaching any trading situation properly.

Yep, you are about to hit a big milestone. Most people cave in the first 18 months. By far, people that make 24 months have actually found the strength/means/methods to beat it for good it - if they want to. An I know that you do! It isn't easy, but it's worth it.

I can honestly say I have always had the opportunity to smoke if I wanted to. Bags of tobacco and E-cigarettes are still in my home as well as my brother living with me is a smoker. I buy his cigarettes and he's only allowed to smoke outside. Preaching to him to quit will never happen. Like me when he's ready it'll happen. The other items in my home do not tempt me. I've firmly made up my mind and made a promise to God not to start smoking again.

Not 'Near' as dangerous as trading in feminine hygiene products, suggested on the list. LoL Don't get me wrong, I understand the trade value of tobacco post apocalypse. When in the USN and stationed overseas, I'd buy 10 rolls of Copenhagen or Skoal and put them in my locker. Invariably the ship's store would run out....quadrupled my money all but once.
