Haven't seen that before, but the science they quote appears viable. It should work.

Edit; that chunk of green on the front is a block of fiber optic material. Same as used with hiviz and others.

The rear is another piece of the same which appears to be shaped like half a magnifying glass. It's actually an ingenious design over all. Durability would dependent on the quality of the materials.
