Our weather predictions for the next two weeks are from 83 to 36 degree so I will have to keep them in a cage on the porch at least that long, they can't take the cold or a draft when little. The bigger ones are just getting their wing feathers and starting to show a hint of purple They will look like this in a month

right now the 11 kits are drinking almost a gallon of water a day and need to stay between 80 and 70 degrees
the are eating 2# of chick starter a week, but I put feed on the floor of the cage so they are wasting some
when they start their free range only about 1/3 of their food requirement will be processed feed

Very prosperous flock of guineas on your hands. They're so cute when still chicks.

Well I moved the last of them down the hill to the chicken house today
I moved the bigger ones a week ago so today I let them out into the fenced yard
and moved the smaller ones down to a pen inside
the bigger ones are losing there brown feathers and turning gray and white spotted
tomorrow I'll take some more pics, its amazing how fast they grow
they went through 50# of feed in two weeks, I'll be glad when they get big enough to turn loose so they will quit eating so much feed
But it will be the rest of this month before I do that.

And the water, they drink a gallon a day each set
The big ones I turned out had not found the water after about 4 hours so I tried to herd them to it and that's like pushing a rope up a hill
so I got them some in on of the containers they are used to and they drank a half gallon in just a few minutes
if anyone gets any remember they need lots of clean water
about 10 minutes later they found the water in the pen
its gravity fed from 3 55 gal barrels, to an automatic waterer, so they have plenty now
