Actually they are plastic
I have been doing this for awhile but don't think I ever posted about it
I just came from the back porch looking down at the chicken pen with binoculars to see if the Guinea's were getting water before going to bed
they were but my Wife asked me how I was able to find them through all of the tree limbs ect between the house and the pen
well, if I know I am going to be looking for a certain spot when I am hunting or doing something like this I will put one of those red Folgers coffee tubs at the spot I want to find
or I hang a piece of flagging tape
In this case I put a red cam at the water trough and it makes it easy to find it through the trees
if the birds are at the can they are drinking
In the same manner, deer don't see red so putting a coffee can next to a trail several hundred yards off, makes it easy to find through a scope
but I like the bright pink or orange flag tape because when I hang it near by on a tree limb, I can tell if there is any wind where the deer will be and which direction it is from

CWI also had done a big write-up about how durable they are to use for storing items to cache away in the wilderness. It did hold just enough items for members of his immediate family for a couple of days until they were able to get to larger caches.
