Somali war criminal found working as DC airport security guard www.foxnews.com/us/2016/06/02/accused-somali-war-criminal-found-working-as-dc-airport-security-guard.html?intcmp=hpbt4employees are subject to the full, federally mandated vetting process in order to be approved for an airport badge, including a criminal history records check by the FBI and a security threat assessment by the TSA.” Yingling said the authority has “verified that all of these processes were followed and approved in this instance. Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling about the vetting process doesn’t it. On the other hand….. I myself admit to being a killer and a murderer while being employed in my countries service and afterward holding one of our highest security clearances. Many of our current security clearance holders have killed for their country What has he done differently? If his “crimes” were against the enemies of his goberment, shouldn’t he be allowed the same opportunities? Is there/should there be a different set of rules?

There is no comparison woodsy. There is also only hearsay and an open ended trial mentioned in the article. For that reason I'll reserve comment on that part.
Making the assumption that everything the article insinuates is true, it would make him a partisan of a military coup. It's like comparing Che Guevara as the equivalent of a US service fighter. As said the comparison is wrong, and I'll add wrong on many levels.
Guilty or not, he should not have been in that position. I would hypothesize that his name came across a government desk somewhere and the pc police prevented a true vetting. I know of several people who lost and or couldn't get clearances based on suspicion alone, not just hard facts. You probably know many as well.
If his last name was Jones or Smith he would have been fully vetted.

cwi
you are right of course, he should not hold the position
I wanted to call attention to the article because it demonstrates the "vetting" process isn't the "cure all" its sometimes thought to be
More people than ever hold some type of security clearance, while more than ever before wait to be processed
the system is under maned and under funded, with "interim clearances" based only on self-disclosures or minimal vetting, letting people work on secret matters for months, sometimes years, without a full investigation.
Its the numbers being needed that has created the problem. If everyone needs a clearance then no one really has one
